Shepherd’s pie most likely originated in Scotland or England in the 1800s. The name comes from the ingredients used to make its taste so good. Lamb and butter. The buttery mashed potatoes on top, and the minced lamb are readily available for a hungry shepherd.

1 1/2 lb. russet potatoes

1/4 cup half-and-half

2 oz cannabutter

3/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

1 egg yolk

Peel and cut the potatoes and place in a pot with cold water. Bring them to a boil. Once boiling bring them to a simmer and allow to boil until soft. Melt the cannabutter into the half-and-half and add to the mashed potatoes, stir and add the rest of the ingredients until smooth. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

1 Onion

2 carrots

2 cloves garlic

1 1/2 lbs ground lamb (hamburger meat will also work)

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

2 tbsp tomato paste

1 cup chicken broth

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

2 tsp rosemary

1 tsp thyme

1/2 cup corn and peas

Coat a saute pan with oil and begin to add the onion and carrots. Saute until they begin to change color. Add the garlic, stir. Add the lamb and spices to the pan and cook until browned. Coat the meat in the flour. Add in the rest of the ingredients (besides corn and peas) and bring to a boil. Once boiling simmer for 10 to 12 minutes and add the corn and peas. Place in glass baking dish and top with your fluffy, cannabis infused mashed potatoes and bake for 25 minutes.
