Medical Cannabis in Maryland

Maryland is one of 23 states (plus D.C.) that have legalized the medical use of cannabis. While the legislation has passed, the program has not yet been implemented so you won’t be able to find a dispensary.

Below we’ve outlined the specific medical conditions that may qualify you for Maryland’s medical marijuana program through Senate Bill 757.

Maryland’s qualifying conditions include:

  •       Cachexia (wasting syndrome)
  •       Severe, debilitating, or chronic pain
  •       Severe nausea
  •       Seizures, including those characteristic of epilepsy
  •       Severe and persistent muscle spasms
  •       Multiple sclerosis
  •       Crohn’s disease
  •       Alzheimer’s disease
  •       Cancer
  •       Glaucoma
  •       HIV/AIDS
  •       Hepatitis C

Senate Bill 923 and House Bill 881, signed into law by Governor O’Malley on April 14, 2014, will significantly change the medical marijuana program. For more information on Maryland’s marijuana laws, NORML is a great resource.
