National Cake Day: How to Bake a Canna-Cake


What do people do on National Cake Day? Well, they bake cakes! There is nothing quite like sitting down to a piece of your favorite flavored cake. From the moist inside goodness to the creamy and sweet icing, it is the staple to any celebration for a reason; it’s delicious! Although, there is only one thing missing from your favorite cake recipe for all of us cannabis enthusiasts. Do you know what that is? You’re right– it’s canna-butter!

What You Need:

½ cup cannabutter
¾ cups all-purpose flour
¾ cups cake flour (not self-rising)
½ tablespoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup milk


Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2: In a medium sized bowl mix flours, baking powder, and salt.

Step 3: With an electric mixing bowl, beat the cannabutter and sugar for 3-4 minutes. Add in eggs, one at a time, then add the vanilla.

Step 4: Set the electric mixer to low speed. Add the flour mixture in parts while alternating with the milk, (ex. add some of the flour mixture, beat, add some milk, beat, add flour…) Beat until combined after each addition.

Step 5: Pour batter into greased pan. Bake 30-35 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through. Cake is done when golden brown and an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
