The face of marijuana is changing. All different kinds of people consume cannabis. Your best friend, the guy in the cube across the way at work, your sister, the person next to you at the gym, or maybe even your father. Marijuana users come in all shapes and sizes. Many successful business leaders, elected officials and celebrities all admit they have consumed marijuana.
According to NORML’s survey data, nearly one out of three American adults admit to having smoked weed. Of these, about ten percent of Americans have smoked marijuana during the past year.
“I like weed, and I’m a good person,” Robocat20 wrote on CNN iReport. Robcat20, who asked not to be identified by name because he fears being “labeled as a bad person” in his small town, says it’s time that changed. He went on to say, “I am a successful businessman, a loving father, devoted husband, registered Republican, active in my community with charities, church and I give piano lessons in the evenings to children with disabilities.”
Just like Robocat20, the vast majority of pot smoker are just are good people who work hard, raise families, pay taxes and contribute in a positive way to their communities. They’re every day citizens just like you and me.
